There are many different approaches affecting the selection of a message for a sign drawing attention to a harvesting site, but most programs use signs displaying at least the following three elements:

  • The name, usually with a logo, of the firm responsible for the harvest

  • A message stating that a harvest is or has been in progress and stating or implying sustainability

  • A contact phone number
