MOVABLE SIGNS Some loggers have adapted typical "warning" signs placed at logging road entrances as pro-active public relations displays. Using "fold-out" mountings or tripods typical for movable highway warning signs, or signs on stakes easily pounded into a road shoulder, loggers have rethought such messages as "Caution: Trucks Entering Highway" and "Warning: Mud on Road" to remind motorists that their business is part of the community and to convey warmer and more neighborly business profiles. One logger uses a two-sign system: the first sign advises motorists "Caution Trucks Entering, Mud on Hwy" and the second one says, "Thanks, [name of logging company]." Movable signs may be taken in each night or moved around between active and inactive jobs. Forest Resources Association
