Jason Cutshall
South Central Region Manager
Forest Resources Association Inc.

Jason Cutshall joined the FRA staff in 2004 as Region Manager for FRA’s Southcentral Region (SCR). The SCR extends from Texas and Oklahoma through western Florida and Alabama, and is comprised of members who produce, transport, and consume wood fiber, primarily for delivery to sawmills, plywood plants, OSB mills, and pulp and paper mills. Jason staffs the SCR Policy Committee, SCR Forest Operations Committee, Southcentral Forest Products Security Group, and FRA’s Southwide Safety Committee. He conducts member field visits throughout the region, highlighting and sharing ideas for FRA members to become more globally competitive through improved safety, productivity, and efficiency. He facilitates continuing educational opportunities for members through meetings and workshops, on such topics as forestry aesthetics, OSHA compliance, hazardous chemical spill prevention and control, and trucking efficiency. Jason is also active in delivering Improving Wood Fiber Supply Chain Relationships Workshops for members throughout the region.

Prior to joining FRA, Jason worked five years for the Mississippi Loggers Association and its insurance company and was the organization’s Executive Director during the final two years of his stint with the association. Jason is well versed in timber harvesting and transportation operations because he grew up in a multi-generation logging and sawmilling family.

Jason earned a BS and MS in Forestry and an MBA, each from Mississippi State University. He was a graduate research and teaching assistant, working in forest economics and timber harvesting research during his graduate career at MSU. Reach him at jcutshall@woodcom.com.
