Jason Cutshall

Jason
Cutshall joined the FRA staff in 2004 as Region Manager for FRA’s
Southcentral Region (SCR). The SCR extends from Texas and Oklahoma through
western Florida and Alabama, and is comprised of members who produce,
transport, and consume wood fiber, primarily for delivery to sawmills,
plywood plants, OSB mills, and pulp and paper mills. Jason staffs the SCR
Policy Committee, SCR Forest Operations Committee, Southcentral Forest
Products Security Group, and FRA’s Southwide Safety Committee. He conducts
member field visits throughout the region, highlighting and sharing ideas
for FRA members to become more globally competitive through improved
safety, productivity, and efficiency. He facilitates continuing
educational opportunities for members through meetings and workshops, on
such topics as forestry aesthetics, OSHA compliance, hazardous chemical
spill prevention and control, and trucking efficiency. Jason is also
active in delivering Improving Wood Fiber Supply Chain Relationships
Workshops for members throughout the region.
Prior to joining FRA, Jason worked five years for the Mississippi Loggers
Association and its insurance company and was the organization’s Executive
Director during the final two years of his stint with the association.
Jason is well versed in timber harvesting and transportation operations
because he grew up in a multi-generation logging and sawmilling family.
Jason earned a BS and MS in Forestry and an MBA, each from Mississippi
State University. He was a graduate research and teaching assistant,
working in forest economics and timber harvesting research during his
graduate career at MSU. Reach him at
