Industry Supplier members harvest, sell, transport, or handle wood fiber in the United States. Dues vary from $440 to $1,125, depending on the volume of wood handled per year.

Forest products manufacturer?
Industry Consumer members consume wood fiber, including biomass, that is manufactured into other products or consumed for energy. Dues vary from $500 to over $100,000, depending on the volume of wood consumed per year.

Who are FRA Industry Consumer members? Weyerhaeuser, Smurfit-Stone Container, Potlatch Corporation, International Paper Company, Glatfelter, Madison Paper Industries, MeadWestvaco, and others.

Independent saw mill?
Industry Consumer: Sawmill members are smaller, independent sawmills producing under 500 million board feet per year. The dues rate for this category varies from $540 to $15,600, depending on annual production.

Independent chip mill?
Industry Consumer: Chip Mill members are smaller chip mills, independent of a manufacturing company, consuming under one million green tons of wood per year. The dues rate for this category varies between $540 and $3,310, depending on annual consumption.

Provider of equipment or services?
Associate Members are manufacturers, dealers, or distributors of equipment or services used by the forest products industry. Dues vary from $600 to $2,390, depending on the annual gross sales volume from forestry- or logging-related businesses.

Who are FRA Associate members? Davis-Garvin Companies, Deere & Co., Komatsu Forest, Peterson, PricewaterhouseCoopers, RISI, and others.

Land management organization?
Land Management Organization members own or manage commercial timberland but do not operate wood processing or manufacturing facilities. Dues vary from $600 to $7,165 depending on annual wood fiber production.

Non-Voting “Information Only” Members

FRA provides four classes of “passive membership” for individuals whose needs are restricted to information, meeting notices, and action alerts but who don’t participate in policy involvement, committee work, or steering the Association. These members may provide only one contact name for mailings and e-mailings.

Consultant (Associate Member II)
Members in this category provide consulting services in the U.S. and are ineligible for Industry Supplier, Industry Consumer, Biomass/Fuel Industry Consumer, or Land Management Organization membership. Dues range from form $100 to $215, depending on gross annual forestry-related revenues.

Subscriber (Associate Member III)
Applicants for membership in this category must be ineligible for Industry Supplier, Industry Consumer, or Land Management Organization membership but still have a legitimate interest in forest resource management and wood supply. Membership benefits are limited to receiving the FRA Bulletin, the Forest Operations Review, and meeting notices, as well as eligibility for member prices on FRA publications and meeting registrations. Applicants are approved at the discretion of the FRA President. Subscription rates for most domestic subscribers are $170.

Supplier (Associate Member IV)
Members in this category harvest, sell, transport, or handle wood fiber in the United States. Dues vary from $100 for three years’ membership to $395 per year, depending on annual wood volume handled.

Members in this category are private forest owners with no wood processing or manufacturing facilities. Dues vary from $50 to $125 depending on acreage owned.

Foreign Industry Consumer (Non-Voting)
FRA offers a special class of membership for companies that consume wood fiber which is manufactured into other products in plants outside the U.S. Foreign Industry Consumer (Non-Voting) members receive the FRA Bulletin, the Forest Operations Review, and meeting notices and are eligible for member prices on FRA publications and meeting registrations; they don’t participate in committee work or in steering the Association. Foreign Industry Consumer (Non-Voting) members may provide up to two names for mailings and e-mailings. Dues range from $750 to $1,490 per year, depending on wood consumption.
