Forest Resources Association Regions
Appalachian Region FRA’s Appalachian Region, managed by Rick Meyer, serves FRA members throughout the stretch of mountainous area bordered by western Maryland, Illinois, Tennessee, and western North Carolina. It focuses on improving timber harvesting safety, efficiency, and environmental performance. Recent past projects have included the development of FRA’s Spill Prevention and Control Video and conducting a Congressional Staff Forestry Tour. The Region hosts a Forest Products Security Group and conducts a two-day Annual Meeting in the fall.
FRA Lake States
Region The FRA Lake States Region, managed by Vickie Hoffart, serves members in Great Lakes region on issues surrounding the safe and efficient harvest and transportation of raw wood products from the forest to the mill. This FRA Region has established a forest products security group, staffs a Log A Load For Kids® Advisory Group, and hosts congressional tours.

Northeastern
Region This FRA Region, managed by Joel Swanton, represents the six New England states and New York, engaging in educational, outreach and research initiatives to promote safety, efficiency, and a positive business climate for forest resources. In addition to publishing periodic reports and developing programs on harvesting efficiency and safety, the Region is most noted for its Industrial Forestry Forum, a monthly meeting of diverse industry interests who gather to network and hear from a speaker on some relevant topic. Active standing committees include Safety & Training, Production Efficiency, Northeast Forest Employers, and Northeast Forest Products Security Group.
FRA Southcentral
Region This FRA Region managed by Jason Cutshall, and extending from Texas and Oklahoma through western Florida and Alabama, is comprised of members who produce, transport, and consume fiber, primarily for delivery to sawmills, plywood plants, OSB mills, and pulp and paper mills. In addition to its Policy Committee, it has a Forest Operations Committee and a Forest Products Security Group. The Region facilitates continuing educational opportunities for members through Workshops, on such topics as forestry aesthetics, OSHA, and loss control, and is very active in delivering Improving Wood Fiber Supply Chain Relationships Workshops at member locations throughout the region.

Southeastern
Region This FRA Region managed by Rick Meyer, serving members from eastern Maryland to Florida, works to improve competitiveness of every segment of the wood fiber supply chain by providing workshop and shortcourse training opportunities, with emphasis on improving efficiency of wood supply systems; holds region-wide meetings for networking; and supporting allied efforts to promote active, sustainable forest management on private, state, and federal lands. The Region is vigilant of technical forestry issues and opportunities which can be best addressed by collaborative cross-member task groups. It hosts the active Southwide Safety Committee, which is a prolific producer of forestry-related safety information and training materials and the Southeastern Forest Products Security Group.
FRA Western
Region This FRA Region managed by Tim Gammell, serving members in 12 Western states, works to improve wood fiber quality, forest biomass utilization, and wood fiber transportation safety and efficiency, while working with allied associations to defend access to the Western forest resource. The Region hosts an active Forest and Fiber Security Group and compiles a monthly fiber use report.
