Forest Resources Association Regions
Appalachian Region FRA’s Appalachian Region, managed by Rick Meyer, serves FRA members throughout the stretch of mountainous area bordered by western Maryland, Illinois, Tennessee, and western North Carolina. It focuses on improving timber harvesting safety, efficiency, and environmental performance. Trucking efficiency and wood fiber availability are current issues of concern. The Region hosts a Forest Products Security Group and conducts a two-day Annual Meeting in the fall.
FRA Lake States
Region The FRA Lake States Region, managed by Vickie Hoffart, serves members in Great Lakes region on issues surrounding the safe and efficient harvest and transportation of raw wood products from the forest to the mill. This FRA Region has established a forest products security group, and staffs the Lake States Federal Timber Purchasers Committee.

Northeastern
Region This FRA Region, managed by Joel Swanton, represents the six New England states and New York. FRA activities at the Region level focus on improving members' productivity, efficiency, safety, or reducing costs across the supply chain. In addition to educational and outreach programs to meet member's needs, the Region is most noted for its Industrial Forestry Forum, a monthly meeting of diverse industry interests who gather to network and hear from a speaker on some relevant topic.
FRA Southcentral
Region This FRA Region, managed by Rick Meyer and extending from Texas and Oklahoma through western Florida and Alabama, is comprised of members who grow, harvest, transport, and/or consume fiber, primarily for delivery to sawmills, plywood plants, OSB mills, pulp and paper mills, and wood-energy facilities. Current issues of emphasis are logging and trucking capacity, wood fiber availability, and woody biomass energy development. The region hosts a two-day Annual Meeting, usually in the spring.

Southeastern
Region This FRA This FRA Region, managed by Rick Meyer, serves members from eastern Maryland to Florida, working to improve competitiveness of every segment of the wood fiber supply chain. Current issues of focus are logging and trucking efficiency, logging capacity, and the utilization of wood fiber for bio-energy. In recent years, the region has merged its Annual Meeting with FRA's National Annual meeting in the spring.
FRA Western
Region This FRA This FRA Region managed by Vickie Hoffart, serving members in 12 Western states, works to improve wood fiber quality, forest biomass utilization, and wood fiber transportation safety and efficiency, while working with allied associations to defend access to the Western forest resource. The Region hosts two annual Region Meetings, and compiles a monthly report on Fiber Use and Clean Air/Green Power Energy.
